Thickness Gauging

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging

The usage of an ultrasonic thickness gauge (UTG) for non-destructive testing to check material thickness and measurement is now regularly utilized in all areas of industrial measurements. The ability to gauge thickness measurement without requiring access to both sides of the test piece is a major advantage of this technology.

Our equipment can be calibrated and set to the known compressional velocity to measure a wide selection of materials.

We at Core-IRM are experienced in the use and reporting requirements with skilled operators, who ensure accurate measurements taken and assessed to provide comprehensive reports. These reports allow our client’s, at a glance, to have the ability ensure the material under test is fit for service or otherwise. We can also when carrying out these surveys provide material lists to reflect material required to repair rejected areas and bring them back to the required standard. This allows the client to be proactive in mitigating any failure that could impact on personnel, assets or environment.

UTG – Structural

Our team can assist during Special Periodic Surveys (SPS) or on an ad hoc basis, e.g. after a repair or as a result of an incident.

Core-IRM Pte. Ltd. has been operating in the Asia Pacific region since 1995. In this time we have carried out many surveys for class authorities and have vast   experience in doing so.

It is this experience and expertise which offer our clients for use on their facilities.

We are certified by internationally recognised Class Societies and further train our personnel onsite and in house to ensure our team continue to supply accurate information both onsite and within the reporting format you require.

UTG – Pipework & Pressure Vessels

Our inspection team are capable of carrying out Ultrasonic thickness gauging on pipework & pressure vessels, in line with IACS governing bodies and industry standard requirements and supply reports assessing the fit for use status of your pipework and pressure vessels.

Our team of skilled operators are able to inspect your equipment in line with your relevant requirements and provide you with information on site at the time of inspection to allow on the spot assessment and give you the ability to plan any further requirement immediately.

We will work with you and assist both onsite and remotely by proactively planning periodic surveys to mitigate any equipment failures.

Boroscope / Video Scope

When visual examination is required inside a pressure vessel or pipe work, access to do so can be problematic. We at Core-IRM can overcome this issue by offering a video scope (shown bottom left)

Our unit has the capabilities of examining pipe work & pressure vessels internally. At a length of 10mtre (30ft) x 8mm Dia, we can offer still photographs and real time video and recordings of the internal surface condition, which is included in the reporting format.

This technique and service has a many uses, examining the internals of engines / machinery without fully stripping down, checking for blockages in small bore or indeed any size pipework, inspecting valve internal and operation, the list could go on and on.

Through offering the services mentioned on these pages, we can ascertain the integral strength/thickness of the examined material/area and visually examine the internal surface condition of the unit/area, hereby preventing failures in equipment and reducing risk to personnel and company assets throughout your installation.
